چکیده
In non-Hermitian scattering problems the behavior of transmission probability is very different from its Hermitian counterpart; it can exceed unity or even be divergent, since non-Hermiticity add remove to and system. present paper, we consider problem a PT-symmetric potential find counter-intuitive behavior. usual system, would typically stationary semi-Hermitian dynamics in regime weak but observe instability once goes beyond an exceptional point. Here, contrast, strongly with divergent peaks, while superficially strong non-Hermiticity, recovering conventional Fabry-Perot-type peak structure. We show that unitarity S-matrix generally broken both regimes, recovered limit infinitely non-Hermiticity.

Transformation optics with Fabry-Pérot resonances
Transformation optics is a powerful tool to design various novel devices, such as invisibility cloak. Fantastic effects from this technique are usually accompanied with singular mappings, resulting in challenging implementations and narrow bands of working frequencies. Here in this article, Fabry-Pérot resonances in materials of extreme anisotropy are used to design various transformation optic...
متن کاملFabry-Pérot Resonances in a Graphene/hBN Moiré Superlattice.
While Fabry-Pérot (FP) resonances and Moiré superlattices are intensively studied in graphene on hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), the two effects have not been discussed in their coexistence. Here we investigate the FP oscillations in a ballistic pnp-junctions in the presence and absence of a Moiré superlattice. First, we address the effect of the smoothness of the confining potential on the visi...
متن کاملPlasmonic Fabry-Pérot nanocavity.
We experimentally demonstrate a novel, all-plasmonic nanoscopic cavity exhibiting Q-factors up to 200 at visible frequencies. The Fabry-Pérot type resonator uses tall metallic fins that reflect up to 98% of incident surface plasmon to concentrate light within a subwavelength cavity mode. High aspect ratio metal fins, constructed using lithography and electroplating, reduce surface plasmon scatt...
متن کاملA Microfluidic-Based Fabry-Pérot Gas Sensor
We developed a micro-gas detector based on a Fabry-Pérot (FP) cavity embedded in a microfluidic channel. The detector was fabricated in two steps: a silicon substrate was bonded to a glass slide curved with a micro-groove, forming a microfluidic FP cavity; then an optical fiber was inserted through a hole drilled at the center of the groove into the microfluidic FP cavity, forming an FP cavity....
متن کاملOptical ‘magnetic mirror’ metasurfaces using interference between Fabry-Pérot cavity resonances in coaxial apertures
Here we propose and computationally demonstrate a quasi-planar metasurface consisting of arrays of pairs of concentric coaxial apertures in a metallic film. The structure relies on destructive interference between Fabry-Pérot modes excited in each aperture at resonance producing transmitted fields that interfere destructively leading to suppressed transmission. Conversely, we show that in the c...
